Why is Kickback not working for some consumers using PayPal?

We have recently received reports that in certain situations at Gilbarco POS sites, manually entered/swiped Kickback cards are not functioning correctly with PayPal and Venmo transactions. 

Please note the results of the following scenarios affecting Gilbarco POS sites: 

Gilbarco POS only Venmo or PayPal native app payment type Venmo or PayPal payment type within the branded apps 
Kickback card manual swipe or entry Kickback points will not function at this time Kickback points will function at the pump, but not inside the store 
Kickback card loaded in branded apps N/A Kickback points will function at the pump or inside 

For the best user experience for receiving Kickback points on PayPal and Venmo purchases, enroll your Kickback card within the branded app, then use PayPal or Venmo as the payment method within the app wallet.
