Fuel Forward, positioning our mobile app for the road ahead

You are always our number one priority, and to be an even better partner to you, we are transitioning to a consolidated mobile app for all our fuel brands. The My Phillips 66®, My 76® and My Conoco® mobile apps will be discontinued in the coming months, and consumers will be transitioned to the new Fuel Forward app launching in April.   

What this means for you:  

  • One consolidated app enables us to focus our marketing efforts on creating consumer-driving promotions and provide additional advertising support. 
  • Additionally, having one app for consumers to use across all three brands provides easier access and drives more traffic to our broad network of more than 6,500 sites. 
  • Currently, we manage six mobile apps between our three fuel brands and the iOS and Android platforms. Consolidating the apps allows us to spend less time on maintenance and more time on bringing new, innovative app features to you more quickly.  
  • We will continue to advertise our three iconic fuel brands in their respective markets, while leveraging this new synergy in the mobile environment.
  • There will be no changes to the existing mobile app discount promotions funded by us. 
  • This will not require any technology or set-up changes at your site(s).  

The new name and icon: 

  • As we unified three brand apps, our goal was to create a new name and icon that are simple, fresh and exciting. The icon also incorporates all brand colors to represent Phillips 66®, 76®, and Conoco® together.
  • We conducted a consumer study comprised of current and prospective app users to obtain feedback on several name and icon options. Fuel Forward received positive feedback with consumers noting the associations to ‘forward thinking’ and ‘purpose’ with the icon being ‘relevant’ and ‘self-explanatory’. 
  • The new icon and name will be positioned together with our brand logos in the app as well as marketing and promotional content. 

Next steps:   

Though we are still finalizing the details, we wanted to communicate this change to you as soon as possible. In February via Weekly Fill-Up, you will receive more information including tools like FAQs to support you in this transition. In the meantime, we would love to hear what is on your mind and any questions you may have. We will consolidate these questions and answer them all in our next communication to you.
