Customer Spotlight: Shining a light on those making a difference

Over the next few months, we are going to spotlight customers who have gone above and beyond in their communities. You are each a beacon of light in your communities, and we are so proud to continue to grow our brands with such strong, committed individuals.

Don Risdon, owner and operator of Carpinteria Car Care, has been branded with 76® for more than 40 years. Risdon has always been a fervent believer in serving his local community and supports many local groups including the Future Farmers of America (FFA) as well as The Rhythmic Arts Project (TRAP) that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Annually, Risdon hosts a car wash fundraiser that benefits TRAP. Additionally, 50% of the sales from fresh flowers at his site are donated to the local FFA. Lastly, Risdon has also hosted an annual toy drive at his station for children of the Dominican Republic with Los Angeles Dodgers legend and Dominican native, Manny Mota.

Steve Lightle, president of B-B Oil, is a branded Phillips 66® and Conoco® customer with 28 branded sites. B-B Oil has been in business with us for more than 35 years, and throughout the years, they have gone above and beyond for the White County community in Searcy, Arkansas. Their continued support of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, United Way of White County, Jacobs House and Searcy Public Schools has had a positive impact on both children and adults across the state. Undoubtedly, B-B Oil’s goodwill efforts will be felt by the White County community and surrounding areas for years to come.

Founders of Town Pump Convenience Stores in Montana, Tom and Mary Ann Kenneally, have been long-time Conoco marketers. One of Town Pump’s core values is to give back to communities across the state. Each year, the Town Pump Charitable Foundation conducts their Annual Food Bank Campaign, “Be a Friend in Deed, Help Those in Need,” with the mission of raising much-needed funds for food banks, rescue missions and soup kitchens. In 2022 alone, Town Pump generated $456,439 in $1 donations from their generous consumers and distributed more than $1 million in matching grants to over 100 food banks. Additionally, Town Pump’s Meals for Backpacks program provides meals for children at risk of hunger to eat over the weekend. To date, 84 schools have received grants enabling them to provide more than 105,000 backpack kits with 420,000 meals. Town Pump is certainly living by and demonstrating their motto: Shaping a Better Tomorrow for Every Montanan.
