April 2022

Your site(s) are now ready to accept over 470 million new consumers.

Are your site(s) PayPal enabled? We announced earlier this year that your business would be leading the industry by allowing consumers to pay using the native PayPal and Venmo apps, and we are officially ready to launch Venmo and PayPal payments in the c-store.

We have executed extensive market research, partnership building and piloting to ensure that your business is brought to this new consumer base of over 470 million PayPal and Venmo users in a way that exemplifies the Phillips 66®, 76® and Conoco® brand values. To launch this exciting addition to your brand’s value prop, you will be receiving POP materials at your site(s) to promote the availability of these payment types.

Throughout this process, you and your employees’ daily operations have been top of mind, ensuring that this is a seamless addition to your business that drives traffic without disruption. When POP materials arrive, make sure your team reviews them carefully so they can understand the ease of these transactions for them.

As we begin the final stages of this rollout, check out the below recap of Phillips 66’s journey in building this partnership and how this will take effect at your site(s) in the coming weeks.

Things to know:

  • Sites that have been activated can immediately start accepting payments through the PayPal and Venmo mobile apps inside their C-Store, as long as the below milestones are hit according to your POS system.
  • The new QR transaction process is very similar to that of our branded apps and the steps required by the cashier are the same.
  • Once we have confirmed your site is activated, you will receive your POP kit including a placement guide, cashier sticker, cashier training guide, change mat insert and register topper.
  • PayPal will be at the 2022 Phillips 66 Power Ahead Conference in Las Vegas next month so you can see how a pump and c-store transaction would occur.

As we continue to rollout these new PayPal and Venmo mobile options, this is a great time to rally your team for a refresh for how to process ALL mobile transactions, both within the branded app and now PayPal and Venmo. For mobile pay training materials, please refer to the www.newgenofpay.com
