EPOS functionality and security enhancements are continually updated, and Data Security and Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements continue to change. It is each site’s responsibility to ensure the software in their point-of-sale system is kept up to date and operates in compliance with Brand functionality, and PCI rules.
With PCI version 4 requirements, sites are expected to manage their end-of-life (EOL) technology obligations actively. As part of our support of this requirement, we will monitor for EOL payment technologies used by sites and make information available to maintain the payment network’s good standing. In other words, as software becomes end-of-life, we will expect sites to upgrade software and hardware in order to manage and meet their PCI obligations.
