The Denver Broncos promotion came out with a ‘W’ in 2021

This season, Conoco® was United in Orange with the Denver Broncos, engaging fans with prize giveaways, media campaigns, tailgate activations and more.

The Broncos Coffee Cup Promotion and Brandon McManus Meet and Greet Event

Although the Broncos had a tough season this year, the Conoco Broncos Coffee Cup promotion kept fans energized with free coffee at your site(s), including sweepstakes for a chance to meet Broncos kicker Brandon McManus. Participating sites experienced a nearly 10% daily increase in fuel volume the Monday after a Broncos Sunday game.

Fans could also scan the QR code on in-store POP or dual-branded coffee cups for the chance to meet Brandon McManus. A. Poyner (Highlands Ranch, CO) was the lucky winner of the contest and will get a chance to meet Brandon McManus at Empower Stadium, along with a prize pack including $100 Denver Broncos Team Store gift card, a signed item by Brandon McManus, two tickets to a 2022 Broncos game, a $100 Conoco gas card and Conoco branded swag. The promotion had more than 1,300+  chance-to-win entries. This year we did something a little different and awarded an account with the largest percent volume growth against the prior year. This year’s participating site winner is Nobel Store, with 114% year-over-year promotional volume growth. Nobel Store will receive the same Meet and Greet and prize pack as our consumer sweepstake winner.

Media impressions

Between radio, digital billboards, email, digital and social media – the Broncos Coffee Cup Promotion and the Meet McManus campaign reached new consumers across the state of Colorado and nurtured brand affinity with the notion that your brand supports their home team win or lose.  Social media alone saw more than 20 million impressions, where consumers got video updates from McManus himself and ongoing reminders about the chance to grab free coffee at your site(s).

Through digital media advertising on the live, interactive mapping and directions app Waze and the gas-price-comparison app GasBuddy, these efforts garnered more than 14.5 million impressions. Pushing the free coffee promotion on these apps helped drive more than 33,000 site visits.

Tailgate Activations

In addition, to reaching consumers on these digital, social and mobile platforms, your brand also got to connect with consumers one-on-one before four Broncos games at Empower Field. During tailgates fans of the brand and team got a chance to win prizes and branded swag. In addition, we had a dual-brand pick-up truck onsite where fans got a chance to play the Kickin’ it with Conoco (flick football) on back of a pick-up truck. We also had an artist sketch three recently inducted hall-of-famers on a Ford Bronco for the Back to Canton activation. Of note, participating in tailgate activations provided fans with a chance to sign up for email and social media communication with the brand, garnering nearly 700+ signups.

These promotions and consumer touchpoints wouldn’t be possible without your site(s), and we are so excited to celebrate another season with the Denver Broncos this coming year. Until next season kicks off,  be sure to follow @Conoco on  Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with exciting opportunities your brand is sharing with consumers.
