Rebuilding on Grand Isle, Louisiana after Hurricane Ida

Grand Isle, Louisiana was hit hard by Hurricane Ida in 2021. The Category 4 storm was one of the worst on record, clocking in as the only the second most damaging storm to hit the state of Louisiana. It destroyed peoples’ homes and businesses, and unfortunately, many have not been able to rebuild.

Despite the destruction, Robert Vegas we decided to stay and rebuild. Whenever he was asked what led him to that decision, he simply replied, “Grand Isle is our home, and we love our little town.” However, because they lost all their pumps and fuel tanks in the storm, they were going to have to start from the ground up.

Their consumers have already shown great appreciation for the rebuilding of their campground, and the new gas station has only added to that excitement. The new site is located near the entrance of the island, which makes fueling up for our consumers incredibly convenient—whether they’re fueling up their cars, boats or any other type of vehicle for some Grand Isle fun. We are so proud to see the Phillips 66 brand bringing a bit of much needed light to this community.
