Phillips 66® donates $100,000 to teachers in your communities through DonorsChoose.

As a part of the Phillips 66® title sponsorship of the Big 12 Basketball Championships, we are honored to team up with DonorsChoose for another year. DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a teacher in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences necessary for an exceptional education and foundation that extends outside of school.

With our mission to inspire people to Live To The Full®, Phillips 66 has chosen a few teachers to highlight as our Live To The Full Heroes. These inspirational educators will be honored at the Big 12 Basketball Championship – sharing the stories of their school, journey and the students they impact every day.

Coach Victor Macias has always dreamed of being an educator, and now, he’s proud to be “Coach.” He teaches his PE classes in a small common area next to the library. Whether creating games tailored to his unconventional gym space or collecting equipment from neighbors and friends, he goes the extra mile in everything he does.

Ms. Brielle Thierry is a phenomenal teacher. She works to bring creativity, imagination and teamwork to every lesson plan using hands-on learning activities. Going above and beyond expectations is something she does on a regular basis, getting her students everything they need to succeed no matter what it takes.

Coach Macias and Ms. Thierry are heroes in their classrooms and in their communities. We are proud to honor them as our 2023 Live to the Full Heroes.

Since 2000, DonorsChoose has raised $1.43 billion for teachers and students, funded 2.54 million projects and supported nearly 800,000 teachers. In 2022, Phillips 66 accounted for $100,000 of the donations to DonorsChoose, funding 382 projects, serving 67 schools and supporting 143 teachers.

We hope you’ll join us in giving teachers the tools they need to keep their kids living and learning to the full.
