Software /PCI Compliance/EMV
Phillips 66® recommends that EPOS software be maintained to the most current update. This new software is certified to the new PCI SSF standard and can be used by sites to support their PCI compliance requirements, or at minimum must run an approved version listed on Gateway and Bizlink.
NEW Software End-of-Life (EOL) Dates:
All Gilbarco Passport 20.02, 20.04, and 21.02 software versions will expire on September 30, 2024 and will be subject to non-compliance fees from that date if not upgraded. These versions have reached an announced end-of-support from Gilbarco, and also do not support Conexxus 2 Mobile functionality. These versions also do not support WEX EMV or Contactless EMV, which are both required to reduce chargebacks.
In addition to the software compliance fee, sites still running older software are more susceptible to chargebacks and may not be able to meet site level PCI requirements.
NOTE: Gilbarco has recently announced that Insite 360 support will no longer be supported for any version 22.xx and older after March 31, 2025. Any sites utilizing I360 that do not upgrade to v23.01 or greater will require a tech visit to re-enable I360 after March 2025.
A determination will be made in the near future for when other older versions will be considered “expired software”, and a date will be set at that time when sites must be upgraded before being subject to non-compliance fees. This information will be published on Gateway, Bizlink, and in the Weekly Fill-up.
Contactless MSD ends November 2024?
As previously communicated, contactless mag stripe capability is end of life and will no longer be supported. The deadline for this was originally set for March 2023, but we were able to delay this until November 2024 without site impact. Starting in November, contactless mag stripe data (MSD) transactions that originate at a dispenser will be disabled, and any site accepting contactless payments at the disperser will need to support the new contactless EMV standard. Installation
Sites with Insite360 may be able to download the new software to their system. Software updates may require additional hardware updates and/or a technician visit to complete the upgrade and configurations. Certain pump firmware updates may be required before software can be upgraded. Sites should contact Gilbarco for more information, or contact your local Gilbarco installer and/or local dispenser technician to schedule an upgrade date, make billing and timing arrangements and find out more about upgrade requirements.
MNSP
As with previous versions, a Managed Network Service Provider (MNSP) device must be installed prior to the software update. The MNSP device is a Gilbarco requirement and is available from Hughes or Sagenet at a cost of $399 for the device and $9.99 a month added to your monthly LinkSafe invoice.
To order or find out more information about the MNSP, contact your LinkSafe provider.
