To help enhance the Fuel ForwardTM App consumer offering and improve mobile operations, sites will be required to upgrade to Conexxus 2 by September 30, 2024. The upgrade process will begin later this month. Please be on the lookout for more information on how to book your site’s dedicated timeslot to complete the upgrade.
Conexxus 2 (CX2) is an updated technology standard interface of how data is transmitted and integrated between the point-of-sale system, back office, and mobile/loyalty payment processing. Learn more about Conexxus 2.
Upgrading your site to Conexxus 2 will help:
- Reduce settlement issues: Currently, Conexxus 1 (CX1) has limitations for settlements which can result in reimbursement delays to your site(s) for mobile pay transactions. With CX2, the mobile discount information is no longer reliant on POS configuration which helps to eliminate the possibility of several of the current CX1 errors to occur.
- Provide new discounting functionality: CX2 will allow us to implement enhanced mobile offers and discounts in the Fuel ForwardTM App.
- Improve mobile offer discount reliability for transactions.
- Reduce mobile downtime: Moving sites from current VPN to P97 servers will help solve disconnection issues.
Conexxus 2 Upgrade Process
- The CX2 upgrade process will begin in late April.
- This initial effort applies to sites with Gilbarco and Verifone POS. Sites with NCR will follow shortly after.
- The CX2 upgrade process will happen at the site level with the Phillips 66 Help Desk, P97 Help Desk (our mobile app developer) and site representative.
- The upgrade process can only be completed by a phone call between the site representative, the Phillips 66 Help Desk and P97 Help Desk.
- The process will require someone with access to Manager’s Workstation (Gilbarco) or Configuration Manager (Verifone)
- Sites must be on the minimum eligible software version of Gilbarco (v21.03) and Verifone (Base 53) to complete this conversion and stay compliant. Learn more about Gilbarco end-of-life.
How to Prepare
- Ensure your site is on the minimum eligible software version of Gilbarco (v21.03) and Verifone (Base 53). If not, please contact the appropriate vendor for assistance in upgrading as soon as possible.
