Phillips 66 has hit a grand slam for brand recognition this baseball season. Between Phillip 66® sponsored St. Louis Cardinals, 76® sponsored Los Angeles Dodgers and our Phillip 66 Corporate sponsored Houston Astros, your brands have gotten coverage all across the country. With some of the biggest names and passionate fans in the MLB, this baseball season has been a huge hit for your brands with coverage throughout the stadium, promotions at your site(s) and activations at the games. This season wouldn’t be possible without your participation, and we hope you enjoyed bonding with consumers over your shared pride and catching your brand on national television during every home game.
Check out this recap of the season and how our Phillips 66 teams performed as we end the season:
Before they faced the Dodgers in a battle of the brands, the Phillips 66 sponsored St. Louis Cardinals played 81 home games and snagged 90 wins throughout the season, claiming second in their National League Division.
The 76 sponsored Los Angeles Dodgers won their Wild Card game against the St. Louis Cardinals to advance to the National League Division Series. From there, they went on to the National League Championship Series against the Atlanta Braves. This is the fifth time the Dodgers have made it to the NLCS in the last six seasons, and although the Braves went on to the World Series, we are so proud of our 76 sponsored Los Angeles Dodgers and are looking forward to another year of Dodger pride in 2022.
The Phillips 66 Corporate sponsored Houston Astros won the American League Championship Series against the Boston Red Sox to make it to the World Series against the Atlanta Braves. Although they ultimately lost against the Braves in Game 6, the Houston Astros made their hometown proud, taking home two spectacular wins in the series. Games 1, 2, 5 and 6 were played at home, and with every game played at Minute Maid Park, Phillips 66 Company got exposure to millions of baseball fans across the country. Each time the Astros brought it home, the Phillips 66 Home Run Pump was on display for the entire country to see in the left outfield as it lit up in the stadium, continuing to count every home run the Astros make. This exposure for our company further proves how Phillips 66 continues to fuel groundbreaking teams, putting your brands on the map as standouts in the industry. The Phillips 66 Company is honored to sponsor such a talented team and we are looking forward to another season and another shot at taking home the World Series in 2022.
