Edwin Straley, First Generation Owner and Operator, Dealin Inc. For Edwin Straley and family, it all started on Harbor Island, Washington in the 1950s with a Flying A Phillips 66 Station. When Phillips Petroleum purchased Tidewater’s western refining, distribution and retailing network in 1966, all Flying A stations were rebranded to Phillips 66. In the 1970s during the Unocal days, the Straley family added onto their portfolio. It was with this location—on 1st and Spokane in Seattle—that Edwin’s son, Dean Straley, took over operations. Present day, third generation owner and operator, Darren Straley, oversees the family’s 76 stations, one being the iconic Space Needle station.
