Recapping our inaugural Customer Innovation Challenge

As we think about the future, Phillips 66 is committed to innovation and forward-thinking ideas to set you and your business up for success. Earlier this year, we announced our inaugural Customer Innovation Challenge, and we were blown away by the 72 submissions we received. Our panel of judges narrowed down the ideas to three finalists, and you voted on your favorite at this year’s Power Ahead Marketing Conference.

Whitehead Oil Company and U-Stop were awarded the grand prize of $40,000 in fuel with their idea “Kick It Back to Community.” Christensen Inc. took home $6,600, and they also received our first-ever Innovation Award for their mobile app and customer portal. Lastly, Senergy Petroleum received $6,600 for Qualifeye, a custom mountable camera system and software. To learn more about all three finalists’ ideas, click the videos below.

Giving back to your communities was a common theme among the 72 submissions we received. Other ideas included ways to effectively increase our social media presence and innovative uses of technology to make your business easier. To further review each of these ideas for possible implementation and to focus solely on moving your business forward into the future, we recently formed an innovation team. To learn more about this new and exciting team and how Phillips 66 is fueling forward, we will be sitting down with Phillips 66 Manager of Innovation for a one-on-one chat in our upcoming issue of Miles Ahead. The issue hits your inbox next Thursday, July 7, so be on the lookout—you are not going to want to miss it!

Your ideas and enthusiasm showed us how important innovation is to you, and we want to ensure the fun does not stop there! Stay tuned to your inbox for more details on our next Customer Innovation Challenge.
