2025 Excellence in Action Program Changes

The Excellence in Action program is committed to helping you drive positive and consistent consumer experiences in areas proven to impact satisfaction and drive sales. We are continuously evolving the program to help you stay ahead of consumer trends and focus on the areas that matter most.

We are pleased to announce the following changes to the Excellence in Action Program that will be effective January 1, 2025:

  • All quarterly Excellence in Action site assessments will be conducted during daylight hours, from sunrise until sunset, 7 days a week.
    • Quick tip: Make sure all sites have hours of operation clearly posted or updated within all online sources- especially if they are not open 24-hours!
    • View the new 2025 Excellence in Action questionnaire
  • The yearly Dark Audit will be conducted during Q1 of 2025, separately from the Q1 Excellence in Action Shop, and will focus on 9 questions relating to exterior lighting.
  • Dark audits may be conducted any time from sunset until sunrise. Sites will be considered “open” and eligible for evaluation if pumps are operational.
  • Passing score for Dark Audits is now 80%. Any score below 80% will be considered failing.
  • All dark audit questions are cure eligible for 60 days from the date of the shop to allow sites an extended opportunity to correct any issues identified during the shop and obtain a passing score.
  • A failing score on the 2025 Dark Audit will automatically trigger a failing score for the Q2 Excellence in Action Shop. Even if the site passed the Q2 Excellence in Action shop, the score will remain a 0% until the Dark Audit is successfully passed. (Failures corrected and submitted via the cure process to earn 80% or above.)
  • The cost for the Dark Audit program is $50 per audit, per site.
